Who we are
Crew&Co is a network for freelance crew and the brands and production companies who hire them. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Crew&Co. We decide how your information is used, which makes us the data controller under UK data protection law.

What we collect and why
- Joining the waitlist. Your first name, email, what you do and where you're based. We use it to send you your invite and updates about Crew&Co before launch. We only email you about Crew&Co, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Our reason for using it is your consent.
- Contacting us. Your name, email, topic and message, so we can reply. Our reason is our legitimate interest in answering the people who get in touch.
- Sending a brief or posting a job. Your name, company, email and the details of the shoot or job. We use them to find crew who fit. If you post a job, we share the job and the email you give us with our members so they can contact you. That's the point of the form, and we say so on it. Our reason is to take the steps you asked us to take.
- Becoming a member. Your name, email and password create your account. Wix handles your password, and we never see it. Once you're in, the information you choose to add is stored too: your listing, photo, contact details, availability, the jobs and kit you post, recommendations, rates you share and any requests you send us. We use it to run the membership. Our reason is the agreement between you and us when you join.
Who can see your information
- Other members can see your member listing, including the contact details you add, and anything you post in the members' area.
- The public only sees your listing if you tick "Show my listing to clients". Your contact details are never shown publicly. Enquiries come to us first.
- Rates you share for the rate guide are kept private and only ever shown as part of combined figures.
- Our service providers help us run the site, and only use your information to do that for us. Our website, forms, member accounts and database are provided by Wix. The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when the page loads.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Where it's stored
Some of our providers store data outside the UK. When that happens, the transfer is protected in the ways UK law requires, such as approved contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Waitlist details until you join or unsubscribe, and no longer than 12 months after launch if you do neither.
- Messages, briefs and job posts for up to two years, so we can follow up on work.
- Member information for as long as you're a member, and up to 12 months after you leave, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Cookies and browser storage
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The members' area stores a small amount of information in your browser to keep you logged in and to remember things like a quote you were writing. Our website provider may set cookies the site needs to work. If we ever add analytics or advertising, we'll ask for your permission first.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- send you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your information
- stop or limit how we use it
- give you your information in a format you can take elsewhere
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also unsubscribe from any email we send.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Age
Crew&Co is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell members and the waitlist by email.
